We’re looking for friendly, energetic adults (ages 18 or older) to lend an extra hand to our librarians during our children's storytime called Preschool Stories on Tuesdays at 11am. This program is geared for children ages 3-5 years old. We are currently looking for a Storytime Assistant to help out on Tuesdays from 10:00am-12:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the room
  • Signing kids in and letting them into the room, while guiding them toward name stickers
  • Crowd control, including respectfully bur firmly suggesting to caregivers that they take distracting children out of the room until they are calm
  • Handing out and collecting shakers, sticks, etc.
  • Modeling paying attention and participating (i.e. singing & dancing with me & the kids)
  • Circulating during craft/play time to give encouragement, advice, and help as needed, and possibly to read one-on-one with them
  • Teardown
