The Pop-Up Market model focuses on providing low-income families access to healthy food and encouraging healthy eating in a fun, vibrant atmosphere at their school. Students and their families can shop for food at a pop-up market once a month inside each school. There will be an emphasis not only on fresh produce and bread, but also shelf-stable pantry staples. While the students shop, they can participate in taste testing and cooking demonstrations. The goal of this program is to feed children who are at risk of hunger and poor nutrition, reduce health and school performance problems by improving nutritional status, and providing nutrition education.

Description
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma distributes food and other grocery-related items to more than 450 non-profit programs feeding the needy in our service area of 24 counties. Together we help provide the equivalent of 335,000 meals each week.
