The Salvation Army collects children's toys & food for Christmas, for families in need. In this volunteer opportunity, we need volunteers to distribute the toys & food to the families.
*VOLUNTEER GROUPS WELCOME!!*
Volunteer job descriptions:
- Food box & turkey distribution - INSIDE the building. These volunteers will sign in the families and will help ensure that each box of items will go to the correct family.
- volunteer break room - only 1 volunteer needed - This volunteer will keep trash picked up fill up snacks and water. Make sure everything is accessible.
- Chaperons - 20 volunteers needed - Chaperons will guide the families as they pick up their food and toys and then help them out to their car. Must Dress WARM!
- Parking lot attendants - 4 volunteers needed - Must DRESS WARM - will be outside the entire shift except for breaks. They will be stationed at each end of the lot in front and back to direct and keep families from parking in the wrong area.

Description
The Salvation Army of Summit County offers a wide variety of programs to persons in need across the county. With free groceries and hot meals, families and individuals can stay well nourished. Utility assistance is on hand to people who have a disconnection notice on their gas or electric. At the Child Development Center, preschool children learn basic skills necessary to enter and excel in kindergarten. The Learning Center, an academic after school program provides homework help as well as time for creative outlets. Children and youth participate in character building programs fostered through an array of recreational activities, music and spiritual guidance. Seasonal giving programs allow low income families to enjoy and celebrate the holidays with donated gifts and food. More than twenty thousand individuals are served through our centers in Summit County.
