Become a mentor to an 11 year old girl! Emma is a described as warm, engaging, and quite shy. She is in the 6th grade and is being raised by a single dad after her mother died when Emma was three. She has an older brother who helps with her care but the family has a limited support system and there are very few women in her life. Her dad works long hours and Emma is often alone or supervised by her brother. She has limited exposure to enriching activities or opportunities to explore interests. Emma had a wonderful Big for four years but the Big got married and moved and started a new life. Emma needs a caring, invested, and positive woman in her life who can be there for her as she enters pre-adolescence. She would love to go our for ice cream, see movies, do arts and crafts, swim or any other fun activities with her BIG.

The Big Sister would agree to see Emma twice a month for 2-4 hours, mostly on the weekends, and make at least a year commitment. Volunteers must be at least 21 and can be Jewish or non-Jewish to apply. Match support is offered by specialists experienced and trained to work with children.
