During these uncertain times, how can we help?

SCDNR, South Carolina Oyster Restoration and Enhancement Project (SCORE)
We are trying to grow our oyster recycling efforts in the Greenville area, and we are looking for volunteers to assist with recycling oyster shells from local oyster roasts and restaurants. Volunteers will be dropping off and or picking up recycling receptacles from event spaces or restaurant route. Timing of drop off and retrieval will vary based on event. We want to have a volunteer pool to use when events come up, so the more people on the list, the better!
Every shell counts and we want to capture what we can before it gets thrown into the landfill!
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.

To involve the public in hands on oyster habitat restoration.
South Carolina Oyster Recycling and Enhancement (SCORE) is a community-based habitat restoration and monitoring program of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. Oysters are critical to South Carolina’s ecology, economy, and culture, and oyster shell is the best resource to sustain oyster populations. Recycled shell is placed back onto the shoreline either during large scale plantings or volunteer-based oyster reef builds. SCORE works with over 4,000 volunteers every year in a variety of ways to help with these endeavors.
We'll work with your schedule.
