Join us for invasive species removal to get ready for winter planting! Tools, training, and snacks will be provided. The event will be held on several private properties along Johnson Creek in Milwaukie. Please RSVP HERE.

Task: We will be removing invasive species (blackberry, ivy, clematis, etc.), in order to have these sites ready for planting this winter.

Parking: From Johnson Creek Blvd, turn onto Alderhurst St. Park in/around the driveway at 6024 SE Johnson Creek Blvd, or along the roadway in front of the house.

No experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, warm clothes and a sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and snacks provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.

Meet at: From Johnson Creek Blvd, turn onto Alderhurst St. Park in/around the driveway at 6024 SE Johnson Creek Blvd, or along the roadway in front of the house. Please be aware not to block neighbor’s driveways. Look for event signs for exact meeting location.

Tri-met bus: #75 and 34 service this area. Free HOP passes given for anyone who rides public transit

Description

The Johnson Creek Watershed Council was formed in 1994 to fill the need for a single organization which could have the entire watershed as its focus. The JCWC provides an important opportunity for community members to participate in enhancing the resource that flows through their neighborhoods and communities. In 2001, the Council became a 501(c)3 non-profit.
