The Giving Tree Ornament Placement Ceremony is an opportunity to honor those who have given the Gift of Life through organ, cornea, and tissue donation. Donor families will place pre-decorated ornaments honoring their loved ones' gift. The event will be held at La Plaza Mall 2200 S 10th St, McAllen, TX 78503 in the Dillard's Court. Volunteers are needed to help check families in, direct them, and help serve refreshments.
This event is co-sponsored by GenCure Tissue Center, Donate Life Texas, Texas Organ Sharing Alliance, San Antonio Eye Bank, Texas Donor Network, and DHR Health Transplant Center.

GenCure's mission is to realize the potential of donated human cells and tissue to save and enhance lives.
Description
GenCure, a non-profit tissue bank, provides various ways for individuals to save and enhance lives through tissue donation. We facilitate the decision offered by donor families and individuals on the Texas Donor Registry to donate much-needed tissue after death. Donated tissue has many surgical and therapeutic applications that benefit patients suffering from disease, injury, or trauma. Additionally, GenCure partners with prominent research institutions by providing tissue that is vital for disease research and the development of new treatments. GenCure also supports and serves donor families and educates the community about the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation.
