Hello!

My name is Kristin Martinez, and I am a Project Manager for The Honeybee Conservancy, a non-profit organization based in NYC that is committed to advocating for bees, sustainability and increasing access to local food in underserved communities.

We are excited to share that as of 2019, The Honeybee Conservancy has led the stewardship of the new Governors Island Bee Sanctuary & Research Garden . Over the last year we spearheaded projects such as the Governors Island BeeBlitz , the Lavender Festival , seed bomb workshops, garden clean ups , and an upcoming citizen science research study designed to document the diversity of bee species in NYC. We are looking to expand our volunteer base to participate in these types of project beginning in Spring 2020. We thought that you might have individuals interested in participating with us within your (club/school/organization) . If so, we would love to provide you with additional information. Please have interested individuals reach out to me at bumblebee@thehoneybeeconservancy.org to find out how to get involved in these exciting projects!

Thanks so much!

Cheers,

Kristin Martinez
