Winter is here and it goes without saying that it is FRIGID outside. While, most of us have roofs over our heads and home cooked meals to keep us warm during the winter season, there unfortunately are those living on the streets during the winter. I see it everyday when I commute into Washington DC for work: homeless people bundled up in multiple coats and tattered blankets lying still on the ground. Sleeping outside in the cold is very dangerous, with high risk of hypothermia and essentially freezing to death. Let's help to alleviate this struggle and minimize the risk of hypothermia for those who choose to sleep on the streets during the winter by delivering sleeping bags (meant for 0-30 F weather and for hiking in the mountains) to the homeless! Interested in helping deliver a sleeping bag to someone living on the street? Please register NOW! How it works.. This is an on-going event throughout the winter. I will collect donations for sleeping bags through the registration process for this event and hand deliver, with the help of volunteers, the sleeping bags on a regular basis to homeless people sleeping outside during the winter. We will order high quality sleeping bags meant for 0-30 degree temperatures. Ticket sales will be used to purchase the sleeping bags. Want to help deliver sleeping bags?
