Kindred Hospice - Our Care Matters

Kindred Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in your community

Patient Support Volunteers provide conversation, leisure activities or a quiet, caring presence. Read to a patient, write letters, reminisce about their life or look at pictures - perhaps just hold a hand - all are wonderful ways to support our patients.

Patient Visit Volunteers may also provide the opportunity for respite to caregivers when a patient resides at home, allowing a caregiver to take time away to care for him/herself, heating up (but not preparing) a meal, or just being present for the caregiver's peace of mind.

Volunteers with Kindred Hospice are an important part of a larger team who recognize that psychological, spiritual, and social services, as well as medical/clinical care, can contribute to an improved life quality for patients in the last stages of life. We offer an extensive orientation and ongoing volunteer support.

Kindred Hospice serves patients and their families in a wide range of communities, and will likely offer volunteer opportunities and training close to your home. We ask our volunteers to make a year long commitment, and to be willing to volunteer for 2-8 hour per month with a very flexible schedule. No hospice or volunteer experience is necessary - just a kind heart and a willingness to provide compassionate care to those we serve.

All volunteer positions require a Physical and two step TB test, a fingerprinting background check, and a drug screen - paid for by Kindred.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, we look forward to welcoming you to the Kindred Hospice team!
