The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has helped thousands of people and brought back millions of dollars into the Tulsa area in federal funds. To continue this valuable service in the upcoming tax season, we need volunteers for 5 VITA sites to perform any of these roles:
- Tax Preparer/Reviewer. Volunteers prepare or review tax returns. Free training is provided. Volunteers must certify annually with IRS testing at the Advanced Level.
- Greeter/host. Volunteers will greet taxpayers, hand out forms, answer questions, keep things organized and moving at the tax site. Data entry is required.
- Savings Champion. Help those who save part of their tax refund to enter SaveYourRefund drawing.
