VIDA (Volunteers in Defense of Animals)

We need volunteers to help us take 10-15 second videos of our dogs and cats at the shelter, upload them to our YouTube, then add them to our pets' postings to help them get adopted more easily! A short video can help them get seen by a lot more people! Videos can also be used on social media.

You do NOT need professional experience, but general knowledge of how to take good video and a good phone camera is all you need. Professionals/freelancers are absolutely welcome to come work with us to practice their skills and build themselves up. We welcome you to bring a buddy along to volunteer to help!

If you think you could contribute anything to these goals, please reach out! You can either reply to this post or email me directly at kimchenvidarescue@gmail.com .

PLEASE INCLUDE: experience that you have, a website or portfolio or some sort of work, how much time you can dedicate (we are looking for fairly long term volunteers, but all are welcome to reach out; we need people who are proactive and creative) and what you'd like to do/what you think you can contribute.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue

Description

Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.

We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
