Summary: The Front Desk Support Volunteer will assist the organization and staff in communicating with incoming students, tutors, and other guests to fulfill their requests, as well as maintain respectful confidentiality of personal information. Volunteer will have quiet space to work on homework or read during downtime.
Estimated Time Commitment: The shift is 2- 4 hours a week, Monday-Thursday mornings from 8:00am-12:00pm. We are looking for volunteers willing to serve once a week or once every other week on a regular day. The commitment can be short-term or ongoing.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Warm, inviting personality to welcome guests
- Willingness to do light clerical duties, as needed by staff
Role Responsibilities:
- Answer door buzzer and welcome incoming students, tutors, and other guests
- Maintain patience and respectfulness with highly diverse population to answer questions and provide correct information based on their requests
- Check voicemail upon arrival, as well as deliver messages to staff
- Make copies, assemble folders, and other miscellaneous office tasks
- Maintain respectful confidentiality in issues surrounding personal information
