Job Description

The Special Events Intern will report directly to the Community Engagement Manager, as well as work collaboratively with all other departments. Specifically, this intern is responsible to help plan and implement all aspects of upcoming events, including client, volunteer, and fundraising events as scheduled. S/he will work alongside the Community Engagement Manager in his/her daily tasks as part of their educational opportunity.

The Events internship is a year-long commitment.


Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Community Engagement Manager in planning all aspects of upcoming events from start to finish, including design, décor, menu planning, gift ideas, and more.
  2. Work with guided event timelines, meeting deadlines as scheduled.
  3. Work with the Community Engagement Manager to create a budget for each event that falls within organization guidelines.
  4. Research ideas to creatively make use of the allotted budget in order to execute the event beautifully and professionally.
  5. Coordinate with the Hospitality Lead to create a menu plan for events, price and purchase items needed, and execute food preparation.
  6. Coordinate with other teams to receive donated/discounted items, sponsorships, and staffing.
  7. Fill out Intern Check-in form weekly.
  8. Commit to 10-15 hours per week of concentrated work in your role.
  9. Log office hours and track team office hours in Podio.
  10. Attend scheduled Lead meetings.

We partner with our clients to build comprehensive, holistic plans to help them pursue their goals and objectives, working to ensure that we're matching the right solutions to the right individual at the right time.
