Job Description
The Volunteer Care Lead will report directly to the Volunteer Care Manager and will work collaboratively with all of The Cupcake Girls departments. Specifically, this Lead is responsible for consistently connecting with our volunteer base to make sure each individual feels empowered in his/her role, enjoys the assigned work and feels valued by this organization. S/he will play an integral role in the volunteer process, from prospective volunteers attending an orientation to volunteers leaving this organization.
Principal Responsibilities
- Communicate with potential volunteers about next steps and next orientation.
- Update new/potential volunteer information as needed (in Google sheets, on Podio, etc.)
- Attend volunteer orientations and assist as needed.
- Attend Open Office Hours as frequently as possible.
- Meet with each volunteer twice annually to assess enjoyment of role and if any changes need to be made.
- Connect with volunteers experiencing difficult life situations and offer support.
- Connect with volunteers (on every team) after 30 days of joining that team to see if it is a good fit. If not, help them connect to another team.
- Reach out to volunteers going through positive life scenarios and offer encouragement.
- Document volunteer meetings in a clear manner and upload notes to Podio.
- Track the volunteer meeting schedule via Podio.
- Assist with volunteer exit process if requested.
- Connect with volunteer care team members regularly via Podio and team meetings.
- Connect with new volunteers on your team for coffee within a week of them joining your team.
- Fill out Weekly Lead Check-in form weekly.
- Lead Fundraising team.
- Commit to 5 hours per week of concentrated work in your role.
- Log office hours and track team office hours in Podio.
- Attend scheduled Lead meetings.
- Connect biweekly with the Volunteer Care Lead in your sister city.
