Mission Statement
River Network empowers and unites people and communities to protect and restore rivers and other waters that sustain all life.
Description
River Network envisions a future of clean and ample water for people and nature, where local caretakers are well-equipped, effective and courageous champions for our rivers. Since our founding in 1988, River Network has been at the forefront of expanding interest in protecting the waters of our country, encouraging diversity in the environmental movement, and helping engaged citizens to take a stand for their waters.
Our work is primarily focused on helping organizations and individuals working at the local level who provide a voice for the needs of specific rivers and their watersheds. We help these people connect to each other and great ideas, empower them to make a difference, and expand their impact locally, regionally and nationally. Our consistent support has helped hundreds of watershed groups get started and grow steadily stronger.
Our headquarters are Boulder, Colorado. We also have staff in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oregon.
