Love children? Do you want to help young parents gain a greater chance at successful parenting?
JF&CS is looking for volunteers to provide babysitting / childcare for the children of parents while they participate in a Parents Group Program. The babysitting will take place onsite in Waltham, with toys and books appropriate for this age range. Parents remain on-site during their workshop. Childcare providers should be comfortable playing with and holding children (but are not asked to change diapers). Volunteers are asked to be warm and welcoming to our young parents, many of whom have never utilized childcare before.

Lunch will be provided for volunteers, parents and children. Requirements include a background and experience with children with the ability to carry child/ infant if needed.

Description
For almost 150 years, Jewish Family & Children's Service has been the safety net for over 30,000 individuals and families in 80 Greater Boston communities. Since its inception, the focus of JF&CS has been to support our friends and neighbors through difficult life transitions and times of personal crisis, offering programs and services for every stage of life.
JF&CS is especially responsive to the needs of vulnerable members of our community: newborns and their parents, individuals with development disabilities or persistent mental illness, families at risk and the frail elderly. What makes our continuum of programs unique is our steadfast dedication to caring not only for the physical and economic health of individuals and families, but also for their emotional and spiritual well-being.
JF&CS is always ready to respond, no matter how difficult the problem and regardless of a person's background or ability to pay.
