The Copper Queen Library is looking for a Shelf Reader to help keep the stacks organized and clean.
Role of the Shelf Reader Volunteer
The Shelf Reader Volunteer will help ensure that books are in their proper order on the shelves. They will also help maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the shelves.
Duties & Responsibilities
Order books on the shelves according to the Dewey Decimal System
Clean and maintain the appearance of the book shelves
Shelve books that were returned to Circulation
Assist in the maintenance of displays
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Dewey Decimal System is a plus, but not required
Ability to stand or crouch for long periods of time
A love of books and a desire to care for them
Expected Commitment
Continual Year-round commitments are preferred
A minimum commitment of 3-4 hours/month preferred
Training & Supervision
Shelf Reader Volunteers will be supervised by Library Staff
Training will be provided by staff on-site as needed

Description
The Copper Queen Library and San Jose Library Annex serves the residents of Bisbee and the surrounding areas. The Library has been in operation since 1882, making it the oldest, continuously operated public library in the state of Arizona. And in 2019, the Library was awarded the EBSCO Award of Excellence in Rural Library Service by the American Library Association and was named the Best Small Library in America by the Library Journal.
