Join the American Lung Association in Michigan in their efforts to combat COVID-19 and other lung diseases at this event. We're excited to return to Comerica Park on Sunday, May 1, 2022, for the 16th annual Fight For AIr Climb Detroit event.

Help make the day a success by volunteering on Sunday, May 1!

Volunteer shifts will be available all event weekend with more than 140 volunteers joining us on Sunday. Shifts will be on average 4-6 hours in length and will fall between our event hours of 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

There's something for everyone on event day to help with - whether volunteering individually or as part of a group - we'd love to have you. We can always use a hand with preparing the event at setup and wrapping up a successful event during tear down. Help cheer on our Climbers - including hundreds of firefighters and first responders - by serving as a Route Guider, Cheer Tunnel, or manning a refreshment station. Perhaps you want to get your steps in too - help us mark the route or serve as a customer service runner. Of course, volunteers are always needed to help at our check-in tables, security and be a friendly face greeting and directing event participants throughout Comerica Park.

Volunteers opportunities are available for high school students when volunteering with an adult or parent/guardian. A signed parent/guardian waiver is required in advance of event day.

Volunteer groups are encouraged to contact us to learn more about how to volunteer as a group and team. Contact us to learn more about additional volunteer opportunities leading up to event day!

Last year more than 1,100 participants and volunteers joined us, including more than 275 firefighters and first responders! Join the American Lung Association in Michigan in their efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support the Lung Association’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The COVID-19 Action Initiative is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics.

To volunteer - please register at www.ClimbDetroit.org as a VOLUNTEER. During the registration process please indicate your interest as a volunteer videographer. Please contact us at EventsMI@lung.org or 248-784-2000 (option #4) for more information.

As a Lung Association event, our community's health and safety are our top priority. To learn more about Our Climb Safe Commitment which includes spatial distancing, health screenings, sanitation protocols, and face masks, please visit the event website.
