Food Pantry Manager Job Responsibilities

The Food Pantry Manager will volunteer at The Wesley Community Service Center (The Wesley) to stock and oversee The Wesley’s Food Pantry as well as provide guidance as needed to the Food Pantry Assistants.

Food Pantry Manager Job Duties

- Inspecting food items for secure packaging, sealing, and food quality dates prior to food distribution.

- Inventorying goods received and entering the information into an electronic database.

- Notifying the Staff of low stock inventory.

- Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the Executive Director and Food Bank.

- Providing guidance to the Food Pantry Assistants as needed.

- Checking the inventory weekly and revising as needed.

- Sorting, organizing, and stocking food products in the food pantry accordingly to likeness.

- Participating in trainings as needed- may include FOODSAFE, USDA, etc.

- Maintaining a log of disposed food items that expired.

- Cleaning the food pantry each shift to maintain order and cleanliness.

Food Pantry Manager’s Required Skills/Education

This position requires the volunteer to have computer Skills to include Excel, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and the ability to drive. The volunteer must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, car, and a good driving record.

Additional Information

The volunteer will be expected to work at least 4 hours per week. The time commitment for this position is for a 6 month timeframe to be renewed at the desire of the volunteer.
