The organization is recognized as one of British Columbia's largest social service providers. With over 20 locations, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. proudly services local communities in Greater Vancouver, Fort St. John and overseas in Taipei, Taiwan and Seoul, Korea. Through advocacy, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is also recognized as a prominent voice of positive social change.

The Event

As part of our 46th Chinatown Spring Festival activities, we will be hosting a Cultural Fair with traditional art, dances, and music performances at the Chinese Cultural Centre. This two-day event will require the support of many volunteers who will be responsible for event day set-up, logistics, clean-up, and other tasks as deemed necessary. Please sign up for your preferred volunteer time and dates, and we will assign you a role accordingly.

We are now accepting volunteers for our annual Chinatown Spring Festival Parade! Come join over 3000 participants to celebrate the Lunar New Year in the heart of our Chinatown community. As one of our 200 volunteers, you will be part of a dynamic and hardworking team that will play an integral role in making our 2019 Chinatown Spring Festival Parade a success!

Duties: Set-up, crowd control, on-site helper with multiple duties, clean-up, etc.
Number of volunteers needed: 200

Event Day: Sunday, January 26, 2020

Shifts for the event are below:

  1. 8am-2pm
  2. 9am-3pm
  3. 11am-4pm

Volunteer Online Orientation: Thursday, Jan 23, 2020, 6PM - 7PM

Dress Code: please dress warmly with no open-toed shoes (preferably sneakers) on the event day

Please sign up for shifts that will work well with your schedule. You will be assigned to one of the following volunteer roles depending on your availability and the needs of the parade team:

  1. Volunteer Registration and Central Dispatch
  2. Parade Team Registration and Lost Child Station
  3. General Affairs and Pace-keeping
  4. Zone Watchers
