Volunteer from Home as a transportation coordinator! Eugene, OR Area

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

  • 7 people are interested

This program is currently not running, but we are accepting drivers for our waiting list when our transportation program starts up again.

Imagine being diagnosed with cancer, but you don't have transportation to your treatment appointments. Every day, patients in our area miss potentially life-saving cancer treatment appointments because they can't afford transportation or are too ill to drive themselves.

The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program provides free transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves.

Driver coordinators help schedule the rides. Coordinators can work whenever it’s convenient for them, during the evening, or weekends. All it takes is as little as two hours a week of your time, organization, and communication skills to make a major impact on the well-being of cancer patients in your community.
