Quest is classified as a human service organization, established in 1963. Quest provides residential services through group homes and intensive care facilities. Quest's Camp Thunderbird allows our individuals the opportunity to play, giving their families and guardians respite.
At Quest's Camp Thunderbird we have an opportunity for volunteers to work outdoors to help maintain the facility. We are looking for volunteer groups during the weekdays or large groups available on the weekend.
Projects vary:
Sand and repaint the two poles that hold a volleyball net (2-4 volunteers for probably 4 hours)
Pressure washing signs, picnic tables, etc. (good project for 1 person for as many hours as they’d like to do)
Clean up and paint a canoe that is used as a sign (2-3 volunteers for probably 2 hours)
Take apart disc golf goals, spray paint parts red and reassemble (4-6 volunteers for probably 4 hours)
Clean out of human foosball area - pull out weeds and grass that has been treated (2-4 volunteers for probably 2 hours)
Paint picnic tables (can accommodate a large group for this one)
Repaint Thunderbird art that hangs at fire pit (1 artistic volunteer for a couple of hours)
Demo small balance beams (2-3 volunteers could probably do it in 30 minutes)
Paint 50 metal bunk beds black (can accommodate a large group for this one)
Build shelving with plywood and 2/4 (need a couple of handy, builder type volunteers for this one)
Create Thunder Cafe menu sign by painting on a blackboard (need someone artistic who can design and free hand paint)
Paint 100 wood chairs (can accommodate a large group for this one)
Clearing brush in the woods to improve view to the lake (can accommodate a huge group for this one)
