Habitat Charlotte’s Volunteer Services team is seeking an unpaid intern to assist Volunteer Services staff with communication, engagement, and appreciation activities for volunteers. The intern will produce content for the volunteer newsletter and coordinate its production. The intern will coordinate and create move-in updates for volunteers. The intern will prepare for several volunteer appreciation events and efforts, and enter data in Salesforce so volunteers can be thanked promptly. The intern will also assist with hosting out-of-town college groups. Ideal candidates should be a creative self-starter with a knack for problem solving. Candidates should have their own vehicle to visit construction sites and ReStores.
Candidates should have a passion for affordable housing, sustainability or issues related to poverty. Intern should have intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and photography. Ideal interns will have well-developed writing skills, a strong sense of organization, and pay excellent attention to detail. The intern should be familiar with databases and have a willingness to learn Salesforce.
The intern may receive college credit if applicable. They will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of different people, to create a portfolio of content, learn volunteer management skills, and have the opportunity to see the inner workings of a leading nonprofit.

Description
Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region builds houses in partnership with low income working families who purchase the homes at low interest and no profit. Volunteer labor and donated items help keep house costs low. Families must work on their own and other's homes.
