Opportunity: Speech Competition Judge

Program: Emerging Leaders Program I

Location: South Arlington

Frequency: One-time

Time/Date: Wednesday, April 1st 6:30 to 9:00 pm

Speech Competition Judges have the exciting role of listening to and scoring 25 student leaders' speeches for our speech competition workshop. Each student has written and prepared their own speech on topics such as: "Who is your role model?" and "What is an obstacle you have overcome?"

Along with 2-3 other volunteers, you will provide an audience for our students as they give their speeches and choose one winner to present their speech at our Emerging Leaders Program I graduation, which has an audience of over 300 people.

Description

Edu-Futuro is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 by Bolivian parents and educators to address the educational needs of the growing Latino population. We offer programs that empower immigrant families through education. We offer: the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) which is a youth leadership and college preparation program, 9-12 Grades; STEM/Robotics, upper elementary, middle school, and high school (4-12); as well as parent and family programs. And we welcome volunteers in all our programs!
