We are looking for a video producer to amplify our project stories through extremely short videos. The ideal candidate is a great storyteller who has the skills and passion to tell compelling stories through video. In addition, he/she can make the story come through clearly.
The Sierra Club - Loma Prieta Chapter's Sustainable Land Use Committee develops environmental guidelines and scorecards for developments. We advocate before local jurisdictions for low impact development in the right place. We focus on land use and transportation to eliminate green house gases rapidly. Our latest project is Green Corridors which looks to provide connected habitat for creatures, insects, and other species that share our planet.
Responsibilities:
* Function as a producer/editor creating video content that brings our projects to life through storytelling.
* Support development of video programming tied to our advocacy needs.
* Help drive overall video strategy.
Requirements:
* Experience with video production from start to finish including: writing scripts, project management, creative direction, and production logistics.
* Must be able to think in a conceptual and executional manner, to tell visual stories and push boundaries.
* Examples of 30 sec to 3 minute videos.
* Strong social media skills (the ability to engage across various media, e.g. visuals on Instagram, videos on YouTube, text on Twitter, discussions on Facebook and LinkedIn) desired but not necessary.
* Must be a strong listener
* Must have excellent time management and project management skills in order to multitask and beat deadlines in a slow-paced environment.
* Naturally curious and interested in gaining a rich understanding of environmental practices and related topics

The Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter organizes outdoor recreation for people of all ages, advocates for policies that protect our natural environment, supports environmental candidates for public office, and provides opportunities for people who want to develop leadership skills to give back to the community and help the environment.
