Do you have a passion for building safety and health in your neighborhood? Become a force for positive change in the health of your community.
We are seeking Concord residents who want to make a difference by working together to address underage drug and alcohol use. Monument Youth Drug & AlcoholCoalition (MYDAC) strives to reflect the community that we serve by working with youth, parents, educators, faith-based organizations, local businesses, policymakers, and law enforcement. MYDAC members provide a voice in selecting the best prevention strategies to help their communities reduce substance abuse. MYDAC meetings are open to community members to learn more about public policy, local government, community education, and substance-use prevention.
When you join MYDAC you will help to
- Influence and develop public policy to address youth access to and misuse of drugs.
- Empower your community by raising awareness about the harms of underage drug use.
- Build and maintain a healthy community by supporting preventative and wellness services as well as environmental safety.
What is a coalition? A group of community members who work together to solve the community's problems and guide the community's future.

Monument Youth Drug and Alcohol Coalition (MYDAC) is one of the prevention coalition that was born through BACR.
MISSION & VISION OF MYDAC:
Purpose: To reduce youth alcohol and other drug use in the Monument Community through community education and engagement, policy change, and advocacy.
Vision:
- Youth in the Monument Community will have the ability to grow up in a safe environment.
- Through education, advocacy, and policy change, we will see a decrease in youth access to alcohol and other drugs and an increase in the perception of harm from these substances.
- Parents, family, and community will be more informed, engaged, and empowered as partners in the prevention of substance use-related issues in the community.
GOALS OF MYDAC:
- Influencing and Developing Public Policy to address youth access to and misuse of alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs.
- Empowering the Community by raising awareness about the harms of drug use and promoting healthy coping strategies through education and advocacy.
- Building and Maintaining a Healthy Community by supporting prevention and wellness services, environmental safety, youth development, mental health, and other human services.
