Kids-Not-Guns! needs your help as we create a tragic document, a mile of red silk with photos and names of children and adults killed by gunfire since Columbine to today, a horrific number.

We need:

  1. Sewers to sew white silk doves onto the red silk banners
  2. Painters to paint the names of the shootings onto the banners
  3. Volunteers to cut out doves from white silk
  4. Volunteers to write the names of victims onto the banners

Pizza and refreshments will be served!

Mission Statement

Peace To The Planet has begun a new Banner, one to memorialize the victims of mass shootings plaguing our nation. Upon red silk (to represent the blood spilled by gun violence) the photographs of victims and their ages serves as reminder of the tragedy of allowing guns to be bought without precautions. The Banner’s white doves represent the victims as well as our foundations hope for change. Peace To The Planet’s new Banner of Hope is a protest of the NRA and other who share its guns-first lives-last mentality.

Description

Peace To The Planet (previously Children As The Peacemakers) is non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian. It has inspired widespread examples of goodwill, trust, cooperation and progress, and has opened vast channels of communication between nations and individuals.

We have spearheaded an array of programs on an International scale that empower children to think constructively about peace, to express their ideas and feelings on peace, and to unite with children of differing cultures to discover and reinforce mutual goals and areas of understanding.

The programs, both consciousness raising and substantive, has resulted in the participation of thousands of children in 80 countries and the formation of a cooperative network of 40 adult organizations worldwide. Many of these organizations represent politically opposing forces. In the early years (1982) the foundation gave particular emphasis to pioneering highly successful programs between the United States and the Soviet Union.

Thirty-seven peace trips by our founder Patricia Montandon with young children have been made during the past twenty-six years.
