S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has been participating in the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) for over 25 years. Every year, we rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to provide tax filing services to low-income members of our community in a friendly and timely manner to ensure individuals gain access to key benefits and support from the government. By becoming a volunteer for the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. ITC, you will gain valuable skills in preparing income tax returns, knowledge in the Canadian tax system, and contribute to a team that actively helps individuals overcome barriers affecting their socioeconomic wellbeing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Over 18 years of age
  2. Have submitted an income tax return in 2019
  3. Fluent in English (Speaking Cantonese or Mandarin is an asset)
  4. Basic knowledge of filing simple income taxes using online EFILE or UFILE an asset
  5. Have a valid SIN until December 31, 2020
  6. Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Preparing tax returns for eligible individuals
  2. Directing tax clinic traffic
  3. Completing other duties at the tax clinic

Training will be provided either in person training or online webinar (date to be determined)

Filing Dates: March 15, 2020 - May 21, 2020 (total minimum of 20 volunteer hours)
