Detailed Description:

The Food Bank of Iowa is seeking data entry volunteers to enter donor data! Your work as a volunteer makes it possible for our organization to purchase the food that we provide to over 630 partner agencies. The volunteer will assist with entering check, cash and credit card donations into our donor database. High attention to detail, ability to handle confidential data, and ability to organize information is required. This position is available with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use computer for data entry of donor gifts (checks, cash, & credit cards)
• Print individual and/or business donor tax receipts
• Verify that the checks match the donor tax receipts with attention to detail
• Updating donor records with most recent donor information

Qualifications:

• High attention to detail
• Very organized with detailed information and databases
• Ability to handle confidential data
• Able to pass a background check
• Able to work well with and enjoy a variety of people
• Able to commit to volunteering at least once a week for at least 6 months
• Able to sit, stand, and move in an office environment
• Comfortable with using computer and learning new computer programs
• Able to commit to the Food Bank of Iowa's mission, vision and values
• Able to complete training, learning about the Food Bank of Iowa's processes, procedures, and functions

Commitment:

• Interested volunteers must be able to commit to one shift a week for at least 6 months
• 5-10 hours per week, preferred
• Increased coverage will be needed during the holiday season.
