We are an independent, non-profit, non-partisan, organisation. We champion democratic participation and transparency in the governance of biosciences. This includes technologies like CRISPR, the gene editing tool, and genomics - sequencing a person's genome.
We are building a team of volunteers to help lay the foundations for an ambitious project. This project aims to raise awareness internationally about the significance of developments in life sciences such as gene editing, and the crucial part we believe the public should play in deciding if, and how, these new technologies should be used.
We have just launched our UK campaign, 'A Truly Public Bioscience', which urges the government to commit 1% of life science funding to educating and engaging the public about the science and ethics of gene editing and genomics.
We need some work doing on our website (website optimization)or, perhaps, a new website. At present, our website is not responsive, which does not give people the right impression.
We have worked with the Guardian many times, and have appeared in the UK Houses of Parliament. Our work is therefore high-impact, but we need a website that looks the part, and has better functionality, if we are to take our work to the next level and made a success of our campaign.

Mission Statement
Independent, non-partisan, not-for-profit. We campaign for responsible life science policy through public consultation, engagement and education.
Description
We are building a team of volunteers to help lay the foundations for an ambitious project to raise awareness internationally about the significance of gene editing and other developments in the life sciences - and the crucial part the public should play in deciding how we use these new technologies.
Our work focuses on keeping the public abreast of policy, giving the public the full picture, and fostering discussion about the broader of implications in the life sciences. We lobby government at the highest level: our written contribution to the House of Commons Select Committee on Gene Editing and Genomics can be found here, and our founder-director, Dr Edward Hockings, can be seen speaking in Parliament in the UK here. Our work has featured on many occasions in the Guardian and elsewhere in the national press, as well as Newsweek and the New Scientist.
