Volunteer advocates respond to calls on our 24-hour crisis line for crime victims. Advocates assist victims by providing information and referral, advocacy, emotional support, emergency shelter and supplies, and help navigating the court, law enforcement, and hospital systems. The largest group we hear from are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault but the center serves all victims of crime. Advocates keep a cell phone and bag of information and resources with them while on call. Volunteers must be 18 or older. There is a 40 hour training provided with background checks
