Sacred Heart Schools Atherton is hosting a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) high school robotics tournament on Saturday, Jan 11, 2020. The tournament runs from 8:00a to 5:00p . All tournaments are run completely by volunteers. We are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles, including Lead Robot Inspector, Judge Advisor, Judges, Referees, Control Systems Advisor, Robot Inspectors, Field Manager and Lead Scorekeeper.
Requirements vary by position. All of the volunteer positions require training (reading the manual, watching a video and, in some cases, a certification test), all of which are available online through the FTC website. Also FTC performs a basic background check on all adult volunteers.
Some of the positions require previous FTC experience. If you are interested in one of those positions, the way to acquire experience is to attend an FTC competition prior to January ( https://www.norcalftc.org/2019-norcal-ftc-qualifying-tournaments/) and either volunteer for the prerequisite role or shadow the person at the competition who has the role you are interested in.
