he Volunteer Role
Your gifts of compassion and care can make an amazing difference in the lives of patients and their families. Often, we underestimate the power that a smile, a caring word or the smallest act of kindness can have on someone. Volunteers can provide support to patients and families through direct care or administrative duties
Our volunteers provide administrative support by helping with clerical functions and organizational activities
- This can include
- Answering Telephones
- Office Organization
- Data entry
- Making Copies
Direct Patient Services
Our volunteers can provide direct support to patients and their families through help and companionship.
- This can include
- Visiting with patients and/or families
- Providing temporary relief to caregivers
- Reading to patients
- Playing games with paitients
- Assisting with yardwork
- Running errands
- Walking a pet
Specialty Programs
In order to expand the scope of our care and meet individual needs, Heart of Hospice offers unique services to patients, their caregivers and the community. Often, volunteers help with these specialty programs. These programs include:
- Pet Companion
- Tuck-In-Team
- Veteran to Veteran
- Community Events
- Butterfly Release
- Recruitment Booths
