The FIRST national robotics championship brings together teams from high schools and high school districts from all over the US to solve a particular set of challenges every year.

In the fall we have a new mentor orientation and mentors work with students designing and building prototypes in preparation for the build and competition season. During this phase, there is less hands on, more planning and design.

Then, the official kickoff will be on January 8th, 2022, with the build season immediately following the kickoff and lasting for 6 weeks. This is where we are the most active. The competitions take place at various times throughout the spring, depending on which regionals we choose and if we move on from the regional competition.

We are looking for individuals who can spend at least 6-8 hours a week at the school helping to plan, design, build and teach. They also need to be highly technically skilled in either computer programming, mechanics, fabrication or all three.
