County Corrections Facilities (CCF) Library Programs & Services

Santa Cruz Public Libraries and the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office partner to bring library books and literacy programs inside all five corrections facilities in Santa Cruz County.

The CCF's mission is to provide free access to information, education, and relevant resources through inclusive library programs and services to people housed in Santa Cruz County correctional facilities.

The Sheriff's Office and Santa Cruz Public Libraries are committed to delivering opportunities for education and personal development, to promote reentry success, as well to ease stress caused by incarceration, leading to an enriched and safer environment for inmates, jail staff, and the Santa Cruz community.

Jail Literacy Program Liaison: Library Services - Working alongside SCPL staff, bring library services and programs to residents of Santa Cruz County Correctional facilities. Requires Sheriff's Dept. training and access. Available to volunteers 21 and older. Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Spanish speaking a plus. Weekly or biweekly commitment required.

  • Tuesdays, meet at Library Admin or facility, 8:15 AM - 12:00 PM

OR

  • Every other Wednesday, meet at Library Admin or facility, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
