Help lead children through the Farmstead grounds on field trips! This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves children, enjoys teaching, and wants to make an impact! Heritage Farmstead hosts thousands of children each year through our field trips and rely heavily on volunteers to run the school tours.
Educational school tours last approximately two hours and are scheduled Tuesday-Thursday mornings during the school year. Most people volunteer for one to two days a month depending on their schedule. Volunteers will be trained to serve as tour guides or assist with our hands on farm activities such as feeding chickens, washing clothes, playing games of the past, reading stories or teaching school house lessons. Students range from 6-12 years old.
There are many different ways to get involved with this wonderful opportunity, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!More opportunities with Heritage Farmstead Museum

Mission Statement
The mission of the Heritage Farmstead Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret late 19th century Blackland Prairie history while making use of the authentically restored Farrell-Wilson Farmstead, a designated historic site.
Description
The Heritage Farmstead Association works to preserve, teach, and demonstrate the past to more than 30,000 visitors annually. Transformed into a living museum of agricultural history, this 4.5 acre historic farm complex has been awarded designation by the Plano Landmark Association, a State of Texas Historical marker, and a listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The museum has received accreditation from the prestigious American Association of Museums.
Heritage Farmstead Museum relies on volunteers for many of its programs, events, and day to day operations. We have a wonderful team of volunteers who we train in their volunteer positions until they feel comfortable. We have parties, and opportunities to engage with other volunteers and staff.
Come join our team and help preserve history for generations to come!
