Hospice SLO County is seeking creative and motivated individuals to join our Outreach Communications & Events team! As an intern, you will gain experience in marketing/promotion and fundraising events, as well as knowledge about end-of-life-issues. Your time and talent will support our free services in the community!
Internship duties include:
- Assist with marketing and advertising of services and special events
- Help develop marketing materials and collateral
- Distribute or deliver marketing materials
- Attend and assist with Hospice SLO County Fundraising Events
- Assist with coordinating event volunteers
- Manage social media pages
Strong candidates are innovative, detail-orientated, and have a positive attitude. Interns will be required to attend Hospice SLO County’s 30-hour In-Home Volunteer Training before or during internship. Hours are flexible and scheduled depending on intern's availability. This position will be supervised by the Outreach Communications & Events Coordinator at Hospice SLO County.
Hospice SLO County is a local 501(c)3 nonprofit serving SLO County residents who are facing a life-limiting illness, end of life or grief. We recognize death as a natural and personal event. In this spirit, we support the community by providing in-home support, caregiver respite, grief counseling, support groups, community response and education. All services are offered free of charge.

Hospice of San Luis Obispo County (Hospice SLO County) is an incorporated non-profit 501(c)(3) agency with offices located in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. Governed by a nine member Board of Directors, Hospice SLO County has been providing uninterrupted services since 1977 and continues to rely 100% on community donations, fundraising events, grants and bequests.
Hospice of San Luis Obispo County envisions a community that recognizes death as a part of life; where dying and grieving are embraced as natural; where all have access to support services without charge; where no one dies or is left to grieve without comfort.
