Plymouth Housing is seeking a volunteer with their own vehicle to help distribute Welcome Baskets to newly moved in residents!

Everyone that moves into a Plymouth home receives a welcome basket to make the transition into housing as smooth and comfortable as possible. These baskets contain everything our residents need for their new apartments and they let our residents know we’re here to support them from the very moment they move in.

The Welcome Basket Delivery Program needs a consistent, reliable SUV or truck driver to deliver these baskets across our buildings. Roughly every two weeks we welcome 6-8 new residents to our buildings. Baskets can be distributed on a consistent date that is convenient for the interested volunteer. The volunteer would check in at our donation center in Belltown, then drive various baskets across downtown Seattle.

The volunteer must be willing to complete a background check and show proof of a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.

If you’re ready to be a part of welcoming our neighbors into housing and being a part of the solutions on homelessness, please consider this opportunity!

About Plymouth Housing

Location:

2113 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121, US

Mission Statement

Plymouth Housing works to eliminate homelessness and address its causes by preserving, developing and operating safe, quality, supportive housing and by providing homeless adults with opportunities to stabilize and improve their lives.

Description

Since 1980, Plymouth Housing Group has been providing homes to the most vulnerable homeless adults in our community--those struggling with differing abilities such as mental illness, HIV/AIDS, severe medical conditions, chemical dependency, and the effects of poverty and aging. Today, over 1,400 formerly homeless adults live in 17 Plymouth residential apartment buildings in the downtown Seattle area, Ballard, and the Eastside.

Plymouth subscribes to the "Housing First" philosophy, operating on the principle that people cannot improve their lives until they have a safe, stable place to live. At Plymouth, we work hard to lower the barriers to housing so that people who are shut out of housing due to addiction, poor rental history, poverty or a criminal record have an opportunity to succeed. Our model of permanent housing, coupled with wraparound supportive services, helps people rebuild their lives, regain their dignity, and leave homelessness behind forever.
