Jewish Family Service of San Diego
Jewish Family Service of San Diego is a client-centered, impact-driven organization working to build a stronger, more resilient community. We believe our volunteers are the backbone of our Agency. We strive to ensure that each volunteer is treated with dignity and respect. Our goal is your success. Be our partner in Moving Forward Together.
We are a permanent supportive housing program that houses individuals, youth, and families who are chronically homeless and have a disability. Through our housing program we have funds to provide our clients some of the resources they need for basic living such as furniture, blankets, kitchen utensils, etc.
Along with our permanent supportive housing program, we also provide outreach services for the homeless in our community. During our outreach hours, homeless individuals and families can come into our office for a hot meal, snack bag to go filled with individual wrapped snacks, water, hygiene kit, sleeping bag, clothing, shoes, backpack, and bus pass.
Goal of program:
The donations we receive from the community help us to provide food, clothing, hygiene products and more to our housed and outreach clientele. Volunteers are needed to help itemize and organize our donations to keep our shelves stocked, organized and clean.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Folding, sorting, organizing donations
- Volunteer must be 14 or older
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must wear closed toed shoes
- Must practice COVID-19 Safety Protocols outlined by JFS Staff
