2020 Heart Walk Logistics Captain Role Description

Objective: Serve as a captain on either the route or festival grounds at the Metro Detroit Heart Walk working with the Heart Walk logistics Director to plan either route or festival ground details before the Heart Walk. Act as a designated captain for assigned section on either the route or festival grounds on the day of the Heart Walk.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend the logistics meetings and conference calls at least from January - May. Meeting date schedule will be presented well in advance.
  • Have regular communication with the team logistics director and other Heart Walk staff as needed.
  • Be available for walk-through of the festival grounds and/or route as necessary for the Heart Walk (including the day before the Heart Walk).
  • Help secure route or festival ground volunteers.
  • OPTIONAL: Help secure entertainment and other donations as needed.
  • Be available for training/planning calls as a group or one-on-one as needed - we will do our best to make it convenient for all.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • 1 - 2 evenings per month from Jan-April for 2-4 hrs and the day. In May there will be 2 meetings for 2-4 hrs each. Then 2 additional days to assist with set-up and the day of the event for 6 hours each day.
