Signature Hospice

  • 2 people are interested

We are seeking compassionate volunteers for our hospice companionship program from all walks of life. We need veterans who are willing to talk to other veterans, certified therapy pets and the humans who love them, musicians who would like to share their music, or just kind people who are willing to listen to stories or hold the hand of someone who doesn't want to die alone.

Our next training will be January 18th and 19th from 8:15am to 3:30pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided. This in-depth weekend training will include guest speakers from various hospice modalities. For more information on this and other training opportunities or to set up an interview please contact us via email or phone. Give us a call so we can get you enrolled!

About Signature Hospice

Mission Statement

Hospice is about quality of life. Your compassion and loving presence is all that is required to make a tremendous difference in someone's life. Signature Hospice invites you to join our team to support patients and families in the Eugene/Springfield community and surrounding areas. Our volunteer training will prepare you to provide the companionship and support so many patients and families need when faced with a terminal illness. As a volunteer, you may take walks with a person in the garden at a facility or their home, listen to stories about their life, adventures, and relationships or about current worries and concerns. Our volunteer opportunities include direct patient/family companionship and support--writing letters, reading books aloud, playing board and card games, playing and listening to music, providing conversations and companionship, sitting quietly, watching TV or enjoying nature, and sometimes helping with bucket list items.

Signature Hospice strives for comfort and compassion for families and patients during life’s most difficult time and journey.

For any journey, preparation and planning are essential. With a devoted support team of professional care providers, our services focus on comfort, companionship, relief, peace, and resolution. Volunteers are an integral part of this care team.

The goal of hospice is to allow the patient to rest comfortably. By working to normalize events, routines, schedules, and more, our compassionate care providers help the patient and family focus on the important moments.

We'll work with your schedule.
