As an American Red Cross disaster responder, the volunteer is responsible for responding to local disasters such as house fires on a 24 hour basis (not mandatory). This volunteer provides the affected family or person a card to purchase food, clothing, or shelter.
The American Red Cross disaster responder also has the opportunity to deploy to another state's disaster if the volunteer is interested at no cost to the volunteer.
