Preferred Hospice is in need of volunteers to visit with patients receiving our care. Many patients have no one to visit with them or are in need of extra companionship. Our volunteers provide a level of friendship and companionship that patients may not have otherwise. We also often have patients who are veterans and would like people to talk to and share their experiences. Volunteers participate in activities such as reading, writing letters, playing games, painting finger nails, watching TV, or sometimes just visiting or providing comfort to our patients. Volunteers are able to make their own schedules and visit at times that are convenient for them. We have facilities every where within an hour radius of our office in Ozark and work with volunteers to find the best fit for them. We reimburse mileage to compensate for the miles driven. If you are in need of service hours for school, classes, scholarships, or groups, we would love to sign off on those for you. We provide all needed training.

Description
Preferred Hospice is a Missouri-based company comprised of a multidisciplinary team of Healthcare workers who specialize in end-of-life care. Among the senior team are Physician and Nurses who together bring over 50 years of Healthcare experience. We serve patients within an hour radius of our home office in Ozark Missouri.
Volunteers are essential to the Preferred Hospice Team. Direct Patient Volunteers provide companionship to patients while offering emotional support and comfort. Direct Patient Volunteers may also provide respite and assistance to patient caregivers. Office and Administrative Volunteers assist the office staff with many things from mail outs to data entry. Training, education, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
