Come make a difference today in someone's life! Disability Resources wants to empower you and the community to embrace the unique qualities of all individuals. At Disability Resources we are committed to helping local individuals with disabilities achieve their highest potential.

We are looking for Volunteers to make a commitment of 3-6 months for a couple hours a week to work with individuals with developmentally and intellectual disabilities. As a Direct Support Staff volunteer, you will not only be giving back to the community but assisting those that may not have families or any other support team with grocery shopping, budgeting money, making and/or attending appointments, housekeeping skills, or assistance with achieving their health and fitness goals. Some individuals are also preparing to further their education with school or work skills, and most importantly you will assist with integrating them in their own community by attending different events, or finding social friendships and having fun while doing it!

Volunteers are required to have reliable transportation with valid insurance and registration and a driver's license. Volunteers will be required to fill out daily progress notes when supporting the individual. CPR/ First Aid is a requirement and must obtain after 30 days of volunteering. This is a good match for someone who wants to help make a difference in someone's life, and has the passion for helping others. This volunteer experience may also be a good fit for a student looking to further their knowledge and experience in the study of psychology, sociology, human services and related medical fields.
