Aquarium Ambassadors spark curiosity, compassion and conservation for the aquatic animal world with Shedd’s diverse audiences.

As an Exhibit Ambassador, you will promote self-discovery in various exhibits, engaging guests with relevant animal information and providing great customer service for audiences of various backgrounds.

Additional Ambassador roles are available and can be acquired upon completion of the initial training commitment.

We welcome volunteers at all levels of knowledge, from beginner to expert! All necessary training will be provided.

At Shedd Aquarium, volunteers are valued partners. They can be found in almost every area of the aquarium: preparing food for our animals, sharing stories with our guests, testing water samples, and even diving. And that’s just the surface!


You don’t need to be an expert to volunteer. If you're passionate about aquatic life, and you love to learn, teach and inspire, you'll be a great volunteer!

  • Orientation or Training
