Is your group looking to volunteer? Consider volunteering with Early Connections Learning Centers! We have ongoing projects for a variety of groups depending on the size and availability. Find a project on this posting, or reach out to our Volunteer Program Director if you have a different idea!
Weekend Projects:
-Playground Care
Time: Weekends only
Group Size: 5-25
Description: Help us cut the costs of landscaping by caring for our playgrounds. Depending on the season, we utilize volunteers to paint sheds, weed, trim hedges, add wood chips, sift sandboxes, repair fencing, and more. This is a great opportunity for larger groups!
-Building Upkeep
Time: Weekends only
Group Size: 5-25
Description: There is only so much that our staff and paid cleaning services can do with the little time we have. We would love help "deep cleaning" our buildings. This would include: removing fingerprints from doors, dusting items high up, cleaning baseboards, spot cleaning walls, paint touch ups, cleaning insides of windows, washing down chairs and table legs, and more. This is another great opportunity for larger groups.
Weekday Projects
-Read to a classroom
Time: Monday-Friday at 10:00am, or 3:00pm
Group Size: 2-5
Description: Our students love books! They also love meeting new adults and making new friends. Smaller groups can come read books to the classrooms and stay to hang out with the kids.
-Make Playdough or Flubber
Group Size: 2-10
Time: Mondays 9am-5pm or Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday after 2:30pm
Description: Our classrooms use A LOT of playdough. We always need more. Help us stock our classrooms by making homemade playdough or flubber.
-Small Playground Project
Time: Mondays anytime from 11:30-3:00
Group Size: 3-7
Description: Help us cut the costs of landscaping by caring for our playgrounds. Depending on the season, we utilize volunteers to paint sheds, weed, trim hedges, add wood chips, sift sandboxes, repair fencing, and more. This is a great opportunity for smaller groups that want to get outside to volunteer.
We understand that each volunteer group has different needs and desires. We also are open to different ideas! Please contact our Volunteer Program Director at bsmith@earlyconnections.org to plan your group activity.

Mission Statement
To provide high quality, comprehensive early care and education for ALL children.
Description
Early Connections Learning Centers (formerly Child Nursery Centers), was founded in 1897 to care for young children from lower income and working families. We operate five full-day, year-round centers for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and three before/after school and full-day summer programs for school-age children. Fees at all centers are based on family income. The Early Learning Ventures Alliance of the Pikes Peak Region, a partnership with independently-licensed child care Affiliates, offers the choice of smaller, more intimate settings and meets the needs of parents with non-traditional work schedules. Early Connections also operates Court Care, a free drop-in facility for children whose families have court-related business.
