We are looking for experienced photographers and videographers to capture our fashion show fundraiser in Point Loma on Tuesday, December 3rd from 11 am to 3 pm. We are especially excited about the idea of streaming live on both Facebook and Instagram. Our models are all women in recovery from substance abuse and addiction, and we will go Behind the Scenes with them as they prepare for the runway and tell their stories of triumph. This is a fundraiser, so commentary is key for the live video technicians. Help us share this day of celebration!
So far we've had the best luck with volunteers who are passionate about the cause, as a degree of sensitivity is required. Our goal is to make these women feel special, valued, and praiseworthy for the hard work they've put into their recovery. They are an inspiration to those who are still struggling with addiction and substance abuse, and our messaging needs to revolve around the very positive, uplifting element of rebuilding lives and relationships and the confidence that lies at the core.
We have ten models, five stylists, and four hair & makeup artists involved in the two hours leading up to the runway show. Our location is a stunning venue overlooking the water called The Thursday Club. In attendance will be friends and family of the participants as well as supporters in the community. Supervisor Kristin Gaspar will speak briefly about her advocacy for this group, and the runway show will be followed by a reception sponsored by El Tapatio Catering. Will you join our amazing team?

The foundation of everything we do is that every woman deserves the basics in life. We are able to provide a little light and fun in otherwise tough situations. Many clients have only the clothing on their backs...we remedy this! Through generous donations we make sure these women have what they need to reclaim their place in society.
Our mission is more than clothes - our committed volunteers provide personal service and uplifting interaction in a unique boutique-like atmosphere, focused on helping women arrive at a level of self-confidence that enables them to improve their lives and achieve independence. The increased self-esteem that comes from securing and maintaining employment not only helps individual women, but contributes to stable families, which, in turn, improves the viability and safety of our communities.

- Please be available to speak on the phone, meet in person prior to the event, and attend a styling session or two over the next few weeks to get to know our participants.
- Experience with live video fundraising would be very beneficial for us. If you have used Periscope or any of the live-streaming services and are able to broadcast live for four hours, please apply!
