When you were young, did you know how to study for a test or make plans for college? Do you remember trying to balance school work and your social life or even just looking for a part-time job? Simple things that may seem easy or straightforward to you now may be a complete mystery to a young person.
Goodwill is committed to helping youth become ready for what lies ahead, and volunteers are an important part of making sure the young people we serve know there are people who care about them, they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and they matter.
Volunteers are needed at YouthHQ@Goodwill, a youth and teen center in Northwest Roanoke. The center serves Roanoke-area youth and the community and features a computer lab, recreational spaces, and adaptable spaces for middle and high school youth. Volunteers provide homework help, guidance, support, and encouragement during YouthHQ's afternoon and evening hours.
Whether you have 30 minutes a week or a few hours a day, come make a BIG difference by volunteering at YouthHQ@Goodwill!
