Join the Enhabit Hospice family and become a hospice volunteer!

Enhabit is looking for volunteers to provide companionship and support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members.

As a hospice volunteer you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.

enhabit Hospice values the generosity of our volunteers and provide training and ongoing support for more information to sign up for a volunteer training/orientation, please contact your local Volunteer Coordinator.

Here are just a few specific ways hospice volunteers can help:

  • Provide companionship and socialization
  • Help with general office support
  • Run errands for patients and families
  • Write a journal or life story with patients to give to the family
  • Play games, read aloud, and listen to music with patients
  • Walk/care for family pets
  • Assist with light house cleaning
  • Create a photo album of the patient and family
  • Or more!

At Enhabit hospice we foster a culture of compassion and collaboration encouraging and empowering each employee and volunteer to keep learning and growing together. Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.

Our experienced team understands the complexity of issues and feelings that surround hospice care and end of life. Our care process is designed to maximize our patient’s quality of life and offer our patients and their love ones comfort, support and guidance when facing a terminal illness.

Our Goal is to provide a sense of dignity and peace for our patients, while controlling pain, minimizing discomfort and managing symptoms. We also prioritize emotional and spiritual needs, guiding our patients and their loved one through the end-of-life process.
